毎年8月にロンドンで行われる『ノッティングヒル・カーニバル』。
UKベースなど今のイギリス音楽の基礎となっているのが、カリブや西インド諸島の移民による文化や音楽。
ヨーロッパ最大規模の祭りであるノッティングヒル・カーニバルは、第二次世界大戦後に人種差別にさらされてきた移民らが自らの文化を堂々と誇るために始めたのがルーツとなっている。
